3rd in the 'Believe It Or Not 2001' competition
Red is the colour of a rose,
The ink on the tip of my pen that flows.
Red is the colour of the ship on the dock,
Red is the paint spilt on my smock.
Red is wine best with age,
Red is the curtain behind the stage.
Red are rubies rich and rare,
The soft, fluffy cushions on my chair.
Red is the graze on my knee,
The decorative ornaments on my Christmas tree.
Red is a colour on traffic lights,
And red is the sunset late at night.
